1. What we need
- Steam
- Tekken 8 demo
- HWinfo
- 7zip (to open the file)
- My batch file that deletes shader caches
2. How to test for stability
A. Open HWinfo and set it to “Always On Top”
B. Search for your CPU clocks.
We want to look at these sensors to ensure we don´t experience any downclocking.
C. Now we want to start Tekken 8 Demo on steam while keeping our clocks in mind (later we will also check our package power and temps)
– Make sure your clocks are steady and your package power is below the PL1/2 limits
D. If Tekken 8 did not crash and you’re now in the main menu while the CPU stopped pulling alot of watts that´s great!
E. Now we close Tekken 8 (alt+f4) and run my Batch file as administrator (it will delete the AMD/Nvidia cache so we can start it again / repeat the process)
F. Repeat steps C-E like 10x. So in total you compile the shaders 10x without any crashes or errors.
G. For good measure add about 0.010v / 10mv to your CPU voltage to ensure its completely stable.
3. END
This method is much better than any prime95 / Cinebench / Linpack load as it doesn´t let the CPU downclock.
If you want to be extra safe you may repeat it for 20 or even 30 times.
